Trevino began entertaining from the bandstand when he was only thirteen years
old. He won the FFA Talent Contest and competed at the State level while in high
school.
Trevino recorded his first record, “The King of Clubs” when he was seventeen. He
developed a passion for traditional Country Music during this time and has
dedicated his career to promoting it. He was featured in the
JVC/Smithsonian/Folkways Video of Anthology of American Folk Music when he was
twenty one.
Trevino has released two albums on his own record label, Neon Nightmare. Both
“Texas Honky Tonk” and “Loud Music and Strong Wine” received rave reviews from
music critics throughout the United States. The projects included duets with
such legendary artists as Johnny Bush, Jake Hooker, Curtis Potter and Leona
Williams.
He then signed with Lonestar Records and released “Travelin’ Singing Man.” That
album sold over three thousand of copies and spawned a recent tour of Sweden
with Claude Gray and Becky Hobbs. He then released his second album on Lonestar
Records titled “The Scene of the Crying.”
Trevino joined Heart of Texas Records in 2003 and immediately released “Too Many
Heartaches”. The album contains eight songs that Trevino penned and duets with
Pretty Miss Norma Jean and Darrell and Mona McCall. It was followed with “More
Loud Music And Strong Wine.”
His first gospel album, “Before You Say Amen” contains fourteen standards along
with some new selections as well. “Before You Say Amen” has already become a
favorite among traditional and gospel music fans selling over 2,000 in its first
weeks of being released.
His latest project "Take One As Needed For Pain" is filled with honky tonk
shuffles including "When She Does Me Right She Does You Wrong" "I Just Lost My
Favorite Girl" and "Neon Sun".
Trevino also fronts most of Darrell McCall’s performances and plays bass for the
legendary Honky Tonk singer. He has worked with some of the biggest names in
Country Music including Johnny Bush, Gene Watson, Kitty Wells, Justin Tubb, Hank
Thompson and Charley Louvin.
Trevino owns his own studio and has produced projects on a number of
entertainers including the award winning duet album on Floyd Tillman featuring
Willie Nelson, George Jones, Mel Tillis, Connie Smith and Ray Price among
